Kyleakin, Isle of Skye

|
| Moyle Cottage with stunning views over The Obbe |
Moyle Cottage is a three bedroom self-catering cottage in Kyleakin just across the
(toll free) Skye Bridge on the beautiful Isle of Skye.
With stunning panoramic
views directly over The Obbe and across Loch Alsh to the mainland this traditional stone cottage, which has been
recently refurbished has a WOOD BURNING STOVE and sleeps up to five.
The
village of Kyleakin itself is a busy fishing
village located on the eastern tip of Skye and is close to the Skye Bridge and is
separated from the Mainland and Kyle of Lochalsh by a narrow strait, the Kyle. Before the Skye Bridge was built the village used to be the main landing point
for ferries to the Island.
The remains of Castle Moil built by Clan Mackinnon and used as their home from the late 15th century until early in the
17th century overlooks the village. Over the last three hundred years the castle has fallen into disrepair and all that
now remains is an impressive ruin. The Gaelic version of the modern name, Caisteal Maol, can be translated as Bare
Castle.
Kyleakin is a superb location
for those wishing to visit all the attractions in and around the Isle of Skye, the largest of the Inner Hebrides, with hill
walking, climbing and Munro bagging to name but a few.
